Happy 151st birthday Canada! Come out to Central Park this Sunday from 11:30 until 2:00, show off your red and white spirit, and kick off your Canada Day celebrations with friends, family and neighbours! It’s bound to be a fun-filled day!

Entertainment

This year we’re super excited to have amazing live performances by a variety of community acts. Dancers from ACOMI, Burundi, and Nepali Youth Dance Groups will perform traditional dances from Africa and Nepal. DJ Coliwog and the Hugh John MacDonald Jazz Band will also be on hand to provide music special musical performances!

Kids’ Stuff

There will be plenty for the kids to do including face painting and balloon animals, listening to classic kids’ tales at the reading tent provided by Frontier College, kids races and a sidewalk chalk station.

Food

What’s Canada Day without a picnic or barbeque? Bring your family for a free hotdog lunch (halal) and enjoy the warm sunshine as you picnic under the beautiful trees at Central Park!

Artisan Sale

Visit the Artisan Tables where we will have West End artisans selling their wares. From homemade goods to jewellery, there will be plenty of distinct made in Winnipeg items that support the local economy!

The West End BIZ would like to thank our community partners North Portage, CEDA, ACOMI and Central Neighbourhoods, Knox United Church and Artbeat for their continued support! We also want to acknowledge the support of these event sponsors: Independent Jewelers, New Balmoral Hotel, Hollyhock Construction and Safeway on Sargent Avenue
