A beautiful ceremony hosted by Mayor Scott Gillingham to acknowledge outstanding business achievement and the contribution that businesses throughout the 16 Business Improvement Zones make to the Winnipeg economy.

This year, the Mayor’s Business Improvement Zone (BIZ) Awards ceremony took place on Friday, October 27th at the Metropolitan Entertainment Center. After a 3 year hiatus due to Covid-19, the annual program is back to stay.
In attendance were Mayor Scott Gillingham, Deputy Mayor Markus Chambers and City Councillors, BIZ representatives, recipients of the Mayor’s BIZ awards, representatives of the City of Winnipeg, and other stakeholders.
The Mayor’s BIZ Awards recognize businesses who were nominated by their BIZ for making significant contributions to promote economic development in their local Business Improvement Zone.
Awards are presented for contributions in these categories:
- Beautification and streetscape enhancements
- Community programs
- Special events
- Safety initiatives
- Marketing and promotion
